My name is Zviko Chirume I am a second year General Aviation student.

The reason I would like to apply for the student council is because I view this as a platform to be a voice for the students of our university. I think it is great that students have a say in their academic lives at university and platforms like the student council ensure that their voices are heard.

Leadership is something I am very passionate about especially servant leadership; I believe those in leadership positions are meant to serve their people and not simply take as much as they can from the system. If elected into the council this will be my model of leadership. People relate more to someone on the ground who knows their struggles and listens I feel that is the most effective style of leadership.

I could sit here and tell you that I want to be in the council so I can change the university for good and so forth. The truth is I realise change is hard to implement and not always welcomed, I simply want to be a voice for the student population regardless of where they are from. This is something that I feel we do not all currently have right now and that is how I would like to implement change.

Powodem, dla którego chciałbym kandydować do samorządu studenckiego, ponieważ jest to instytytucją, która jest głosem naszych wszystkich studentów na uczelni. Uważam, że to wspaniałe, że studenci mają swój udział w życiu akademickim na uczelni, a takie insytytucje jak samorząd studencki zapewniają, że ich głos jest słyszalny.

Przywództwo jest czymś, co bardzo mnie pasjonuje, zwłaszcza przywództwo w służbie; wierzę, że osoby zajmujące stanowiska kierownicze mają służyć swoim ludziom, a nie po prostu brać z systemu tyle, ile mogą. Jeśli zostaną wybrani do rady, będzie to mój model przywództwa. Ludzie bardziej odnoszą się do kogoś na miejscu, kto zna ich zmagania i słucha. Czuję, że jest to najbardziej efektywny styl przywództwa.

Mógłbym usiąść tutaj i powiedzieć ci, że chcę być w radzie, abym mógł zmienić uniwersytet na dobre i tak dalej. Prawda jest taka, że zdaję sobie sprawę, że zmiany są trudne do wprowadzenia i nie zawsze mile widziane, po prostu chcę być głosem studentów, niezależnie od tego, skąd pochodzą. W moim odczuciu nie wszyscy z nas mają taką możliowść,wiec chciałbym, aby się to zmieniło currently have right now and that is how I would like to implement change.
